GeoXray
uses patented, and patent-pending technology to extract, index, process,
correlate and display information about places. At its core, we apply an enhanced text-matching process combined with a
patent-pending, dual-correlation process that is optimized to link information
to places.
Geosemble’s unique, patented approach is that we focus on locations first, and create a signature match to places based on proven text matching algorithms. This text matching approach has some important benefits in that it applies well understood text matching techniques to geographic locations.
The system works in the following way: a given area is made up of individual points of interest. These could be road names, streets, parks, schools, buildings, government facilities, etc.. Each of these places has a name, and each place is used for some function. For example a school has a name, and a function. Similarly, a building hosts a business, and that business is involved in something specific at that location. If we take that information as a kind of “knowledge nugget” and we sprinkle more knowledge nuggets for places all around it, we have created a unique distribution of unique places, which creates a signature of that place. Now think of each of these nuggets as having a special magnetic property. When we pass a torrent of unstructured text over that area, the magnets will pull down any content that matches their unique magnetic property. This is the essence of our approach, which works in concert with Geosemble’s unique text matching algorithms, geographic signature enhancements, specialty geo-coding, parcel centroid analysis, automatic road vector alignment and automatic extraction and normalization technology, among other technical enhancements.
This “location first” approach is very different from more traditional approaches which focus on documents first, and then apply Natural Language Processing to attempt to crunch that data, isolate individual words and try to “understand” the meaning of the documents. Because we apply both location information in our first step and then match against text documents, we have the ability to compare both data sets for a high probability, highly scalable matching process.
