Description
Geosemble Technologies, a leader in the field of geospatial information integration, has an immediate opening for a senior software developer with strong Java experience who is interested in building cutting-edge GIS software products. Successful candidates will be mainly responsible for designing and developing the geospatial data import, conversion and integration products. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic, interesting, and challenging environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and design desktop Java GIS-related applications (e.g., data import, conversion and integration utilities) for Windows
- Design, implement, test, document, and support software technologies that extend the Geosemble Platform
- Work closely with other software engineers, research directors and product specialists to build quality software and provide innovative solutions for Geosemble customers
Required Background and Skills
- B.S. or M.S. degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Strong hands-on commercial development experience with Java (with 2 to 3 years industry experience)
- Familiarity with ESRI GIS data (shapefile, geodatabase) and OGC formats (GML/KML)
- Database (Spatial in Oracle, particularly) experience, incl. JDBC
- Experience with creating and delivering winning products into an evolving and competitive marketplace
- Superior analytical, problem solving, and engineering skills
- Ability to work with a team in a constantly challenging environment
Additional Skills Desired
- Web programming experience (AJAX, Google Map or Virtual Earth)
- Familiarity with Google Earth APIs
- C/C# programming experience

Successful candidates will be mainly responsible for designing and developing the collaborative-update and social networking components for Geosemble web applications. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic, interesting, and challenging environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and design GIS-related web applications for Windows
- Design, implement, test, document, and support software technologies that extend the Geosemble web application platform/product
- Work closely with other software engineers, research directors and product specialists to build quality software and provide innovative solutions for Geosemble customers
Required Background and Skills

- Database (Oracle and MySQL) experience, incl. JDBC
- Experience with creating and delivering winning products into an evolving and competitive marketplace
- Superior analytical, problem solving, and engineering skills
- Ability to work with a team in a constantly challenging environment
